The Lake District is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country with impressive fells and vast lakes. That’s not to mention all the gorgeous towns and villages nestled in this national park.
While a lot of people choose to drive in the Lake District, you can get around with public transport. Travelling by bus can be a great option if you don’t want to worry about parking and navigating the more tricky roads.
It’s also a great opportunity to sit back, relax and watch the views through the window, LancsLive reports. One of Britain’s most scenic bus routes can be found in the Lake District - and now that the government’s single bus fare cap has been extended through the summer, it’ll only cost you £2.

The Honister Rambler Route bus 77/77A, runs from Keswick to Catbells and then on to Honister, Buttermere and Whinlatter daily. With views of Buttermere and Honister Slate Mine and everything in between, it seems like a no-brainer to hop on this bus.
If you've always wanted to explore the Lake District but didn't want to battle traffic as well as parking, this is the perfect route for you. Starting at Keswick and returning there too, it's a great loop to take in the views and you can do it for only £2.
It’s a circular seasonal bus service which operates from Easter to October in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions taking in Portinscale, Catbells, Grange, Seatoller, Honister Slate Mine, Buttermere, Lorton and Whinlatter Forest. You will also travel through one of the steepest passes in the region, the Honister Pass.
The service stops at or near the following attractions; Keswick, Grange in Borrowdale, Bowder Stone, Rosthwaite, Seatoller, Honister Pass, Buttermere, Crummock Water, and Whinlatter Forest. You'll be able to get off and explore Buttermere and Crummock Water and if you're quick you'll see the Rannderdale bluebells.
