The 2 Johnnies to share update on bewildering GAA catfish story within days as saga continues

The 'GAA catfish' story has taken Irish social media by storm in recent weeks after revelations were shared by the 2 Johnnies star Johnny B.

The Tipperary man revealed on the comedy duo's popular podcast that he had been catfished by a woman he had met on Instagram.

His repeated attempts to meet up with this person always failed at the last minute, leading him to eventually suspect something was amiss.

In a second instalment of the catfishing saga, the two friends sat down to discuss the situation in further detail.

Johnny B said that the fake accounts that contacted him lead back to a woman named Nicki (not her real name), who they believe has created these personas to connect with figures, such as GAA players, in the past.

“She has used these accounts to catfish approximately 40 men from all four provinces. No one has been asked for money,” Johnny B said of the trickery.

The 2 Johnnies team revealed that they had invested time and finances in tracking down the culprit after a woman got in touch with them via email, claiming her photos had been doctored by the fake account.

Social media has been buzzing with speculation about the story, with many people doing their own digging into the wild saga.

There have been widespread calls for a new update on the catfishing tale, with more revelations appearing almost daily this week.

It seems fans' prayers have been answered as another update and a third instalment of the story is set to be released within days.

With more chapters yet to be written in this saga, there will be a short update on the upcoming episode 224 of the 2 Johnnies podcast as they are joined by comedian Jason Manford next Monday.

A full Part 3 is also expected "in the coming weeks", according to the comedians.
