The 1975 to open 2020 UK tour at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena - ticket details released

Manchester band The 1975 have announced details of their biggest tour to date.

And it will open at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham on February 15.

The 12-date arena tour will coincide with the release of their fourth album, Notes On A Conditional Form.

In an interview with Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, frontman Matty Healy explained that the album would be inspired by British night-time culture, adding that it contains references to "the beauty of the M25 and all those lights and going to McDonald's and listening to garage records in a haze in a Peugeot 206."

He also told Q that the album has a style similar to English alternative hip-hop music group The Streets and British electronic musician Burial.

The first release from it, called The 1975, features a spoken word essay from climate change activist, Greta Thunberg.

Tickets will go on sale from the venue and Ticketmaster on Friday, September 20, priced £40.40 and £51.60 (booking fee included in price stated).
