The 1970s Glasgow Subway advert that will take you on ultimate nostalgia trip

Prepare to be transported back in time ... on the Glasgow Subway.

An old TV advert has suddenly popped up out of the blue, providing the ultimate nostalgia trip for Glaswegians.

Legendary GBX DJ George Bowie shared the 1974 footage on Twitter, which shows the Clockwork Orange in action some 46 years ago to the tune of an incredibly catchy jingle (try and get it out your head now!), as Glaswegians give their thoughts on the city's beloved old transport system.

And while the majority of those interviewed were satisfied with the iconic subway, some were far from impressed. Comments include: "I like the subway!", "I think it's pretty good", "I never really have any trouble with it", however, also: "It's far too old fashioned - all these steps!"

Well, if it was old-fashioned then ...

The advert also references a couple of old station names, including Partick Cross, Merkland Street and Govan Cross, no doubt familiar to those living in the city at the time.

Tweeting out the video, George Bowie said: "This ad for the Glasgow Subway from the 70s is the catchiest thing you'll hear all day!"

We wonder if George will blare out his very own remix on the radio this weekend!
