Coronavirus case rates continue to rise in 18 local areas in England, according to the latest data.

The majority of those areas will be put under Tier 2 restrictions when the national lockdown ends on December 2, while eight of them will face the toughest measures in Tier 3.

Out of a total of 315 local authorities areas in England - the other 297 are recording a fall in the number of Covid-19 cases recorded.

In the North West, just one place - South Ribble in Lancashire - has a rising case rate.

The South East has eight places where cases are rising - the highest number of any region.

The region is also home to both the places with the highest and lowest rates of coronavirus in the whole of England.
