The 16 areas with the lowest number of coronavirus cases in Nottinghamshire

Sixteen areas of Nottinghamshire are now recording a low number of coronavirus cases, according to a government interactive map.

These areas have infection rates below 200 cases per 100,000 people.

Arboretum, Forest and Trent University has the lowest number of cases in the county, with just seven new cases reported in the week to January 20.

Beeston North has also recorded a drop in the number of positive cases, with 16 confirmed for the same period. It is the only area of Broxtowe with low numbers of cases.

Two areas in Nottingham city have a low number of cases as well as three areas of Rushcliffe, five areas of Bassetlaw, one area of Gedling and four areas in Newark and Sherwood. These are lower than the England average.

Mansfield and Ashfield do not have any areas with less than 200 cases per 100,000 people.

Below are the 16 areas in full. It reads: Name of the area (and local authority in brackets), rate per 100,000 people in the week ending January 20, and the number of new cases recorded in this window (in brackets).

Arboretum, Forest & Trent University (Nottingham) - 53.8 (7 new cases)

Retford East (Bassetlaw) - 160.5 (14 new cases)

Mapperley and Porchester (Gedling) - 195.1 (17 new cases)

Newark South East (Newark and Sherwood) - 142.7 (14 new cases)

Worksop Town and South (Bassetlaw) - 167.3 (12 new cases)

Cropwell Bishop, Kinoulton and Upper Broughton (Rushcliffe) - 157.1 (9 new cases)

Newark South West (Newark and Sherwood) - 167.8 (14 new cases)

University Park, Lenton Abbey and Jubilee Campus (Nottingham) - 145.2 (16 new cases)

Fernwood, Farndon and Fiskerton (Newark and Sherwood) - 139.3 (13 new cases)

Keyworth North, Tollerton and Willoughby (Rushcliffe) - 103.5 (6 new cases)

Carlton and Langold (Bassetlaw) - 181.7 (15 new cases)

Harworth, Bircotes and Blyth (Bassetlaw) - 166.9 (18 new cases)
