The 15 Rangers players facing contract confusion due to coronavirus shutdown

Rangers have a series of players with deals running out in the summer that could be directly impacted by the shutdown.

The SPFL have suspended the league due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and players with expiring deals in the summer is another area that needs addressed if the season is extended.

Contracts typically run until May 31 or June 30 and although there is a chance players may be given an option to sign extension waivers, it's not set in stone. These are unprecented times.

Former Liverpool and Spurs director of football Damien Comolli told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Legally, players' contracts end on June 30. So if the season has to go beyond June 30, we will have to do some special contracts or shorten contracts of a month or two months, which has never been before.

"There is no provision in the UEFA Players' Statute Regulation to do this. That is another aspect."

For Rangers there are a total of 15 players who are facing this uncertainty.

Ianis Hagi is the biggest name on the list with the playmaker's loan set to finish up. Rangers have an exclusive option to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent deal, however.

Sheyi Ojo signed a short-term deal from Liverpool but has failed to force his way into Steven Gerrard's plans in recent weeks.

Florian Kamberi has been one of the few bright spots in a poor second half of the season for Rangers on loan from Hibs.

Andy Halliday and Wes Foderingham have not been offered new deals both set to leave the club as it stands.

And what about the long list of players the Ibrox side have sent out on loan this season, who could be away from their parent club for a little longer?

Ross McCrorie has had a injury-riddled time with Portsmouth, while his brother Robby is excelling with Livingston.

Jamie Murphy has reignited his career with Burton Albion after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with the Light Blues.

Greg Docherty has become a key player for Hibs as he penned a loan deal until the end of season in January.

Glenn Middleton also made a mid-season move as he joined Bradford City after a disappointing spell with the Easter Road side during the first half of the campaign.

Academy graduate Jamie Barjonas is with Championship strugglers Partick Thistle, while Jordan Rossiter looks to be surprlus to requirements with Rangers on loan at Fleetwood Town.

Frozen-out keeper Jak Alnwick is also south of the border with Blackpool, while Jason Holt sealed a short-term move to St Johnstone at the start of the season.

Youngster Aidan McAdams is getting some first team experience with Edinburgh City.
