The 15 neighbourhoods with the highest coronavirus rates in the Bristol region

Three areas in our region are in the most severe category for coronavirus case rates.

One is in Bristol – Westbury-on-Trym – and the other two are in South Gloucestershire – Bradley Stoke North East and Bradley Stoke Central.

It comes as Bristol and North Somerset have dropped to "high alert" Tier 2, while South Gloucestershire remains in "very high alert" Tier 3.

The Government's latest coronavirus cluster map shows 15 neighbourhoods in the region with high infection rates in the week up to December 12.

Three of those neighbourhoods are in the most severe category, which covers areas with rates of more than 399 cases per 100,000 people.

The second highest category applies to places with rates between 200 and 399 – and it covers four neighbourhoods each in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
