The 13 Welsh pubs sold in Admiral Taverns deal with Star Pubs & Bars

Admiral Taverns has expanded its pub portfolio with the acquisition of 150 venues - including 13 in Wales.

The sites have been bought from Star Pubs & Bars and brings Admiral's estate up 950.

They said the would invest in the new sites.

This deal was supported by investors Proprium Capital Partners and C&C Group.

The takeover comes shortly after appointing Chris Jowsey as chief executive and relocating to a new headquarters in Chester.

"Admiral has a strong track record of integrating new acquisitions and these new pubs will significantly increase our presence across the UK," said Jowsey.

"Core to Admiral's approach is our commitment to invest behind our pubs and licensees, supporting them to build vibrant social hubs that can thrive at the heart of their local communities.

"Through this acquisition we are delighted to be able to bring so many new dedicated licensees into our business."

The thirteen Welsh pubs sold as part of the deal:

  • O'Briens               (Barry)
  • St Georges Hotel              (Swansea)
  • Tadross Hotel     (Barry)
  • Cross Hands Hotel           (Newport)
  • Maindee Hotel  (Newport)
  • Dynevor Arms Nelson     (Treharri)
  • Masons Arms     (Pontymister Risca)
  • Mountain Air Hotel         (Nantybwch)
