More than a dozen Covid-19 vaccination centres in County Durham have helped ensure more than 2 million jabs have been received in the North East and Yorkshire.
Latest government figures show the region has handed out the third-most vaccine doses in the country though it has fallen behind the Midlands, where a total of 2,415,791 jabs have been carried out.
In the North East and Yorkshire region, 1,921,673 first and 81,333 second doses have been given, making a total of 2,003,006.
The NHS is delivering the vaccine through hospital hubs, local vaccination centres provided by groups of GP practices and large-scale vaccination centres for high volumes of people.
And NHS staff have today begin vaccinating people aged 65 to 69 along with those classed as "clinically vulnerable", with more than one million people already invited to book a jab.
In County Durham, 13 centres are administering the vaccine:

- St Andrews Medical Practice, Spennymoor
- Claypath & University Medical Group, Durham
- Auckland Medical Group, Bishop Auckland
- Brandon Lane Surgery, Brandon
- Pelton and Fellrose Medical Group, Chester-le-Street
- Bowburn Community Centre, Bowburn
- North House Surgery, Crook
- Peterlee Health Centre, Peterlee
- Tanfield View Medical Centre, Stanley
- Shotley Bridge Community Hospital, Shotley Bridge
An announcement on a mass-vaccination centre in County Durham is expected this week.
Speaking in Newcastle on Saturday, Boris Johnson praised the North East's efforts, and urged anyone eligible who hadn't had a jab yet to come forward.
