Liverpool is famed for its industrial roots, world renowned football teams and of course, the Beatles.

First recorded in 1190, the city is said to be named after the narrow strip of water called the Pool, which used to run from where Whitechapel and Paradise Street now stand into the Mersey.

But this famous Northern port hub isn’t the only place around the globe called Liverpool.
