For the first time in a very, very long time, hockey fans will be without the steady presence of Henrik Lundqvist on a NHL roster. Sure, Lundqvist’s last season was in 2019-20 thanks to a heart condition that kept him from playing last year, but there was still a hope he’d return to play in future seasons.
Now, after Lundqvist’s retirement on Friday, we’ve seen the last of one of the greatest goaltenders of all time on NHL ice. Though Lundqvist never won a Stanley Cup, the netminder had a stellar NHL career, sitting sixth all-time in the league with 459 wins, all with the New York Rangers to boot.
In honor of Lundqvist’s 15-year NHL career coming to an end, we thought it only appropriate to list out some of his best moments on and off the ice during his time with the Rangers.
