'The 100' actress Marie Avgeropoulos arrested on domestic violence charges

An actress on the popular CW sci-fi series "The 100" was arrested last week after allegedly throwing punches at her boyfriend.

Marie Avgeropoulous, 32, was arrested Aug. 5 in Glendale, Calif., and booked on charges of felony domestic violence, online records show.

She was later released after posting a $50,000 bail.

The actress was busted after her boyfriend called police claiming she'd hit him during an argument, according to TMZ.

Though the gossip site reports the boyfriend did not want her arrested, and instead simply wanted the cops to "diffuse" the situation, police observed marks on his body, and Avgeropoulos was taken to the city jail.

Sources reportedly said the outburst was likely due to the fact that the actress had mixed alcohol with a new medication.

Avgeropoulos, a native of Canada, has played Octavia Blake on "The 100" for all six seasons. She's also appeared in a handful of other TV shows including "Cult," "Fringe" and "90210."

A rep for the actress did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
