The 10 things to watch in business on Tuesday September 15

1. The UK's annual inflation rate, the consumer price index, has fallen back to zero official figures show. The cost of living was pulled down by lower oil prices, the Office for National Statistics reports. The core inflation rate, has dropped to 1 per cent from 1.2 per cent.

2. Chinese shares continue to fall: The Shanghai Composite was down 3.1 per cent at 3,019.90, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 0.4 per cent to 21,467.64. Meanwhile shares in Japan headed higher with The Nikkei index closing up 0.3 per cent.

3. Crisis-hit Brazil unveiled a $17 billion austerity package on Monday, designed to boost its ailing economy. The package will freeze public sector salaries, cut jobs and trim social programs.

4. Trade Union Bill: MPs backed the Trade Union Bill, which would force unions to meet higher voting thresholds and give more notice before a strike, by 33 votes in the House of Commons.

5. DIY retailer Kingfisher, which owns B&Q and Screwfix, says it could open another 200 Screwfix stores in the UK. Currently, it has 412 UK stores supplying tools, plumbing and electrical equipment. As part of a previously announced restructuring plan, the company said it was also on track to close about 60 B&Q stores by the end of its 2017-2017 financial year.

6. Fashion retailer H&M said sales rose to 1 per cent in August - far worse than the 6 per cent jump analysts had expected. The Swedish chain blamed "unseasonably warm weather" in many of its big European markets.

7. Ocado has reported a 17 per cent rise in group sales to £272 million for the 12 weeks to 9 August compared with £232 million a year earlier. Average orders per week also rose nearly 17 per cent to 190,000 from 163,000 a year ago.

8. Luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover expects this year's sales to exceed last year's as Britain, Europe and North America should help compensate for a sharp decline in China, its chief executive said on Tuesday.

9. Symphony, a messaging service backed by Goldman Sachs that could take on Bloomberg, will be launched publicly tomorrow at The Lanesborough Hotel in Hyde Park, London. Symphony promises "secure, compliant messaging" similar to the internal chat system in Bloomberg terminals. Many bankers see this feature as the most valuable part of the terminal.

10. Space enthusiasts rejoiced after NASA announced the launch of 4K TV channel with ultra-HD space footage and online streaming, due on November 1.
