The 10 postcodes in Leeds with the worst Covid-19 infection rates

Latest figures have shown that some areas in Leeds are still battling to keep their coronavirus rates down.

In recent weeks, the infection rate city-wide has dropped, as well as the number of new daily cases.

But some areas across Leeds still have a worrying number of cases - casting doubt over the city's chances of being lifted into Tier 2 after a government review on December 16.

This is shown in the latest government figures from the seven days leading to December 5 and this has been highlighted on its interactive map.

The data also shows that Leeds' infection rate is heading in the right direction as dropping to 142.5 from 171.3 in the same period.

It comes less than a week before the government is set to give an update on December 19 on the Tier-system review that could see Leeds move into Tier 2.

These are the worst affected areas

  • Methley - 306.9

  • Leeds Dock, Hunslet & Stourton - 225.8

  • Osmondthorpe & Neville Hill - 359.4

  • Lady Wood & Oakwood - 297.5

  • Swarcliffe - 340.3

  • Cross Gates West & Killingbeck - 220.6

  • Methley - 306.9

  • Beeston East - 315.9

  • Seacroft South - 287.9
