The 10 places in Nottinghamshire where Lidl wants to build new supermarkets

German supermarket giant Lidl has outlined 10 locations across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire where it wants to build new stores.

The budget retailer plans to bring its well-priced shops to various locations across the county, with some of the stores already in the pipeline.

It comes as part of a wider plan by the company to continue expanding its UK service, currently having around 800 stores nationwide.

Lidl has outlined a total of 55 locations across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and other parts of the Midlands, including some within the Greater Nottingham area.

One of the stores outlined is in Hucknall, with progress being made on the site of Hucknall Football Club.

The list, most recently updated in Spring last year, also includes a site in 'Mansfield North West', which opened in Leeming Lane South, Mansfield Woodhouse, in the winter.

There are further stores planned for Nottingham city centre, West Bridgford, Strelley, Kimberley, Mapperley, Edwalton, Basford and Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

A second store is also planned in 'Mansfield South', as well as a store in Ilkeston.
