The 10 most relatable pictures from Parklife 2019

Another Parklife festival is behind us, with tens of thousands of festival-goers braving wind and rain to see the likes of George Ezra, The Streets and Disclosure performing at Heaton Park.

This year's festival was bigger than ever, with a new-look VIP area, new stages and a new scheme of perks for ticket holders.

Even a headliner dropping out with just days to go didn't stop the party.

While Heaton Park itself has a week to recover before Courteeners take to the stage, most of this weekend's festival-goers are straight back to the daily grind today.

Here are a few moments from the weekend that most of us - Parklife-goers or not - will be able to relate to.

Dressing for the weather

Manchester's not exactly a dry city, with a fairly consistent blanket of drizzle covering the city year-round.

Sick of walking around with your face pointed firmly at the ground to keep the rain out of your eyes?

Take a leaf out of this enterprising young man's book - goggles! Goggles on dry land! Why didn't we think of this sooner?

Going undercover

Regretting the mud-slide your mates caught on camera? Bumped into your boss while you were three pints worse for wear? Maybe just can't face your responsibilities just yet?

No worries - nobody will look twice if you come up with a decent disguise... like a... erm... rubber unicorn head?

Straighteners were a waste of time

Battling the wind at Parklife (Manchester Evening News)

You've actually made an effort before work for once, hair washed and straightened, full face of make-up, walking out the door feeling like a boss.

But Manchester's got other ideas for you.

Presenting: wind coming from all directions at once. Good luck fixing that 'do now.

Getting your priorities right

Keeping the chips dry at Parklife (Manchester Evening News)

Chips are gold.

You must protect them from the elements to the best of your ability.

We like to think this person is risking a water-logged smartphone in order to keep their carbs dry.

Beer fear

"I'm never drinking again," you moan every Sunday morning.

You've got beer fear, and there's no time for hair of the dog - just run away from the beer.

Keep a safe distance until at least Friday evening.

Respect my personal space please

You are going to have the leave the house again, but don't want anyone to come too close.

Make like this Parklife-goer and build yourself a small isolation bubble to hide in.

Channel your inner snail.

You've got this... you've not got this

A Parklifer falling over on the first day of Heaton Park (Manchester Evening News)

Living by the seat of your pants, winging it, flying through life hoping everything's going to work out just right.

And it is... until suddenly, it's not. But brush yourself off and go again.

P.S. Genuinely hope this person's okay, that is quite the stumble.

Steady now

As above, except this time with a spilled beer thrown in. Oh dear.

Mud has a lot to answer for.

Everything's fine

Braving the wind at Parklife (Manchester Evening News)

Nothing to see here. Everything's under control.

My umbrella's meant to be inside-out, thank you very much.

You do you

Okay so we can't relate to this one, having never stood in a muddy field in our underwear while juggling.

But we like to think this juggling pant-less character represents embracing your individuality and, well, showcasing your talents? Not sure.

But you do you, friend. You do you.
