The 10 most expensive and cheapest North East streets to buy homes in the last 5 years

The astonishing difference between the most expensive streets in the North East and the cheapest over the last five years has been revealed.

It is the result of a new tool by home sales company Property Solvers tracked average sold price data from HM Land Registry since early 2016.

In that period, the average sold prices of North East properties ranged on one street from £1.8million to a low of just over £18,000 on another - just 1% of the highest figure.

It will come as no surprise to some that Runnymede Road, Ponteland is at the top of the list where houses sold for an average of £1,785,125.

It was followed by Graham Park Road with an average sold price of of £1,451,500 and Gubeon Wood in Tranwell Woods in Northumberland at £1,416,666.

At the other end of the scale was Waterloo Walk in Washington with an average sold price of properties since 2016 of £18,375.

Next came nearby Collingwood Court at £19,464 and Kenilworth Court, also in Washington with £21,625.

Commenting on the tool's findings, Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.”

“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Apperley Road, Stocksfield sold for £2,700,000.

"And, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £20,000 and under on Gladstone Street in Blyth, Riversdale House, Stakeford and Sulgrave Road in Washington."
