The £10 house plant that NASA say can help people stop snoring

A simple house plant could be the answer to your sleep problems.

The pineapple plant is said help sleep because of its night-time oxygen production.

And the pretty plant is being sold at Asda for just £10, reports Manchester Evening News.

It will be a welcome addition to the home for those who have to lay side-by-side with a heavy snorer.

Snorers have probably been forced to wear nasal strips while they sleep, mouth guards, and even splashed the cash on special pillows.

But this pineapple plant could do the trick. According to Nasa, their studies show that purifying plants such as the pineapple plant improve air quality which in turn aids a better and quieter sleep.

The plant from the Bromelia family are the most purifying plant by night and research shows that they strongly improve the air quality of a room and contribute to a better sleep, by allowing a deeper sleep and reduction of sleep apnea, or some snoring symptoms, says Asda.

Phil Smith, Asda Plant Buyer, told the Express: "Snorts, snuffles and splutters affect a quarter of Brits, so for those 16 million snorers, Asda’s Pineapple Plant could be a dream come true – even more-so for sleep deprived partners.

"For those lucky enough to sleep through the night without the disturbance of snoring, the plant is a chic addition to the home which is easy to care for and adds a little touch of The Tropics to any room."

Although sold in the UK, the plant is grown in Holland and takes between 21 and 24 months to develop the tiny pineapple.

You can buy the house plant from Asda.
