1.    UK government borrowing figures are coming at 9:30 am. 

2.    China's leader Xi Jinping is expected to put the seal on its contribution to what will be the first UK nuclear power plant to be built in a generation. The plant is expected be opened by 2025 at Hinkley Point, in Somerset, with China likely to cover about 30 per cent of the cost.

3.    Italian luxury sports car maker Ferrari garnered a rich $10 billion valuation on Wall Street Tuesday as its initial public offering went out at $52 a share.

4.    Japanese exports grew by 0.6 per cent  in September from a year earlier, the weakest growth since August 2014.

5.    Sony will pay former and current employees $8 million (£5.1 million) in a settlement related to the hack of its computers last year, in order to cover identity-theft losses, the cost of credit-fraud protection services, and legal fees.

6.    Toyota has announced a massive car recall. Around 6.5 million cars worldwide will be called-in to fix a glitch with powered windows, which has a risk of short-circuit and possibly fire. About 1.2 million of the cars affected are in Europe, 2.7 million are in the US, and 600,000 are in Japan, according to the BBC.

7.    Credit Suisse announced the appointment of two new heads of its investment bank, Tim O'Hara and Jim Amine, as it reported a sharp fall in profits.

 

8.    The Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee said the £5 billion Work Programme - launched in 2011 - was “not working well”. Nearly 70 per cent of people who go through the government's main welfare-to-work scheme failed to find sustained employment.

9.    Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev and his ex-wife Elena on Tuesday announced they had reached a deal to settle their divorce, which had been dubbed the costliest break-up of all time.

10.    Indiegogo, the world's largest online funding platform, will today launch a new crowd-funding platform for charities and non-profit organisations.
