Dry July is officially upon us. Not to be that person, but holy hell, the year is flying by. It’s time to lower your wine glasses, say no to that shot, and go sober for the next 31 days. Or don’t, I won’t judge.
And while it’s winter, unfortunately we’re not bears, so we don’t go into hibernation. Friends must be caught up with and functions must be attended, c’est la vie. Socialising without a bev in your hand isn’t impossible, but for the socially-awkward folk among us, it damn near might be.
Latching onto a glass of something can be a subconscious comfort, and since a beer or a vino is off the cards, I’ve provided you with some scrumdiddilyumptious options that taste so good, you’ll forget it’s the real deal. And hey, you can drive home at the end of the night, too!
Best Non-Alcoholic Drinks 2025

NON The Everyday Set
NON is the future of non-alcoholic wine. These botanical, floral and spicy blends are designed to be paired with food, making it the ultimate bottle to bring out at a dinner party. The everyday set offers a good variety if you’re discovering the brand for the first time.

Gordon’s Alcohol Free 0.0 Pink Gin & Soda
These ‘gin’ and soda cans offer the same refreshing hit that the alcoholic equivalent provides, minus the pounding headache that comes the following morning. Notes of raspberry and red currants give it a slightly fruity tang.

Fever Tree Blood Orange Soda
While Fever Tree is best known for its status as a premium mixer, its sodas are equally as tasty on their own. I’m obsessed with the blood orange variety because it does a pretty good job of convincing me I’m on the Amalfi Coast, rather than stuck in dreary Melbourne.

Naked Harvest Non Alcoholic Italian Spritz
While we’re talking about Italian summers along the southern coast, let me put you onto Naked Life’s Italian Spritz. With bitter orange, rhubarb root, a mix of botanicals and orange flower, it’s the perfect mix of bitter and sweet.

Plus & Minus Pinot Noir
I typically steer clear of non-alcoholic red wines, due to the fact that they taste pretty foul 99 per cent of the time. This one from Plus & Minus is the one per cent. It has the same complexity of an alcoholic Pinot Noir, and only 28 calories per 100ml!

Altina Kakadu Plum Rosé
She’s crisp, she’s fresh, and she’s ready for a weekend afternoon with your girlfriends. With de-alcoholised Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Native Australian Kakadu Plum, this rosé is meant for long lunches, shared gossip and lots of laughter.

Heaps Normal Quiet XPA Non-Alc Can
Just like wine, non-alcoholic beer is extremely hard to get right, but Heaps Normal does it flawlessly. And while I’m not a beer gal myself, so many yeast-drinkers have raved about this brand to me. Best known for its Quiet XPA non-alcoholic cans, these have the refreshing beer-y taste we know and love, with a slight citrus tang.

Sodasmith Sparkling Lime & Native Citrus
Vodka lime soda, minus the vodka, anyone? You can never go wrong with sparkling water, and Sodasmith does it best — trust me. This is my go-to 3pm pick-me-up when I want something bubbly.

Remedy Sodaly Lemon Lime Bitters
Lemon, lime and bitters is a pub classic. And enjoying an ice-cold can is akin to taking a walk down memory lane, where this drink was considered the ‘grown up’ bevvy at the kid’s table. And in my opinion? They’re extremely underrated. Lemon, lime and bitters supremacy!

Liquid Death Sparkling Water Mango Chainsaw
Don’t be alarmed by the freaky packaging, this sparkling water is a big softy. With a burst of natural mango and electrolytes, this is peak health and wellness during social gatherings that tend to get a little messy. You’re rising above it this time!

Pro tip: if you’re going to a bar or pub and are looking for a handy money-saving hack, ask for sparkling water. It depends on the bar, but if they’re nice, they’ll give it to you on the house. Getting a free bev and waking up super hydrated the next day? It’s a win-win!
