The $1 billion Grand Egyptian Museum opens to the public, showcasing Tutankhamun treasures

After two decades of anticipation and delays, the $1 billion Grand Egyptian Museum has opened its doors to the public near the Giza Pyramids.

The vast complex features over 50,000 artefacts, including the golden mask and complete treasures of Tutankhamun displayed together for the first time.

Visitors can see the 3,200-year-old statue of Ramesses II in the atrium and explore galleries tracing Egypt’s history from prehistoric times to the Roman era.

The museum also includes cultural, educational, and conservation facilities.
