'That would get sent straight back' Gordon Ramsay outrages fans with £18.50 fish and chips

Gordon Ramsay has sparked controversy after sharing a video of his £18.50 fish and chips at London House restaurant.

The celebrity chef took to social media to praise the dish, with the caption: "You can’t beat a London House classic.... and this one’s to go !!"

The video shows a piece of fish being dipped in flour and batter before being dropped into the fryer.

Chips are added to the box, alongside a portion of tartar sauce and mushy peas, a lemon, curry sauce, before the crispy looking fish is added.

But some fans were left outraged by the hefty price tag and portion size of the takeout meal.

According to The Mirror, only seven chips are added to the box.

One fan tweeted: "Need a few more chips in there. How much you charging for that? That would get sent straight back."

Another said: "The fish must still be alive because it seems to have eaten the rest of the chips."

A third complained: "£18.50?? I mean if it came with 8 or 9 chips I'd think about but 7 is taking the ****."

"Thanks Gordon, I like to be full up after a meal though," wrote another.

"Fish and 7 chips? Why is reducing portion size seen as a good thing? It really isn't," commented another.

But some defended the chef's dish, with one saying: "It’s a high establishment restaurant not your local chippy round the corner."

Another said: "That is the best looking fish and chips I have ever seen. Can’t wait to get back to UK and try it."
