'That situation' - Manager drops transfer hint over Nottingham Forest target

Nottingham Forest are being linked with in-demand striker Nahki Wells.

Sabri Lamouchi is desperate to add to his options in the final third and according to Sky Sports, Wells has emerged as a target.

Lewis Grabban is the only recognised centre-forward in the squad as things stand and securing another option is key for Forest in their quest for Championship promotion.

Wells is currently on loan at QPR from Burnley, where he is enjoying a fruitful campaign leading the line for Mark Warburton’s side.

The 29-year-old is the top scorer for the Rs this season, boasting an impressive record of 14 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

There is a recall option in the loan deal that saw Wells return to Loftus Road for a second season in August and it has been suggested Burnley could exercise that in order to sell the Bermuda international this month.

Bristol City are also claimed to be interested in the forward, who counts Huddersfield Town, Bradford and Carlisle among his former clubs.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche was asked specifically the prospect of Wells making a permanent exit from Turf Moor and admitted the situation will be monitored between now and deadline day.

"He is going along nicely, we keep tabs on him and know what he is doing,” Dyche told LancsLive.

"I know Mark Warburton well and he is very pleased with him. We will monitor situations like we do, he is one of ours so we are in control of that situation."
