‘That’s the difference between leadership and lunacy’: Jasmine Crockett shuts down Republicans blaming the Democrats for government shutdown with facts

While the government is still in shutdown due to a deadlock between Republicans and Democrats over a crucial funding bill, both parties are engaged in a blame game. The Republicans seem to be doing most of the heavy lifting in this situation, but the Democrats are also not giving in.

The latest to take a jab at Donald Trump and his Republican counterparts is Representative Jasmine Crockett, who has previously voiced her discontent with the current President of the United States and his party. In a video that has been circulating on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Crockett is seen explaining that the Democrats do not hold a majority in the Senate. Thus, it is entirely the Republicans’ responsibility to make important decisions, including those necessary to keep the government operational. Crockett suggests that if the Republicans find themselves needing votes from Democrats, it will be their duty to reach out to them, just as Joe Biden did during his presidency, which ensured that the government never faced a shutdown during his term.

Jasmine Crockett continued her critique of Trump, blaming him and the Republicans for the shutdown. She then praised former President Joe Biden, stating that while his measures during his presidency were not perfect, they were fostering positive changes across various aspects of American life. Crockett’s remarks about Trump and Biden resonated with many on social media. On X, one user commented under a video of Crockett sharing these thoughts and wrote:

“Biden managed to keep the government running, work across the aisle, and deliver real results without turning every week into a circus. Meanwhile, Republicans can’t even keep their own caucus together long enough to pass a budget. That’s the difference between leadership and lunacy.”

Another individual highlighted the priorities of the Republican party and wrote:

“Sorry the GOP is busy protecting pedophiles.”

That said, many Republican leaning and Democratic leaning people in the comments emphasised that the need of the hour was to reach a bipartisan settlement to reopen the government.
