Roma troll Arsenal fan with brutal social media put down following Watford collapse

Roma have one of the best social media teams in football.

And they re-affirmed that fact with a brilliant post following Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Watford on Sunday.

The Gunners threw away a 2-0 lead against the bottom of the table Hornets, with defensive blunders costing them.

Sokratis gave the ball away in his own box from a goal-kick to allow Tom Cleverley to score, before David Luiz felled Roberto Pereyra in the box to allow Pereyra to score from the penalty spot.

Arsenal fans probably thought their day could not get much worse afterwards, but one fan in particular was wrong.

A player that Unai Emery decided was surplus to requirements this season - Henrikh Mkhitaryan - piled it on for Gunners supporters as he made his debut for Roma, and got on the scoresheet.

Roma, obviously, tweeted that Mkhitaryan had scored, and one Arsenal supporter quickly replied that they were winning 2-0 and that Roma could "keep him".

However, that came back to bite Smokey (@ItzArsenal420) with the Gunners letting that lead slip. And it led to Roma proving their quality on social media with a brilliant retort to the Arsenal fan.

Mkhitaryan left the Emirates Stadium on a one-year loan deal on transfer deadline day, despite playing a part for Arsenal in key games this year against the likes of Liverpool and Spurs.

He made the move to Roma, where he will also feature in the Europa League this season. And he has been in red-hot form since leaving the Gunners.

Mkhitaryan scored twice for Armenia on the recent international break, and opened his account for Roma with a goal on his first appearance for the club in a 4-2 win over Sassuolo in Serie A.

Mkhitaryan latched onto a through ball from Lorenzo Pellegrini before firing a low drive into the net with his left foot to make it 3-0 to Paulo Fonseca's side in the first half.
