'That's beautiful!' – Jose Mourinho thrilled after Tottenham teammates Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min engage in furious half-time row

Jose Mourinho has described Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min’s furious half-time row in Tottenham’s win over Everton as “beautiful”.

The Spurs captain responded angrily to the Korean’s effort on the stroke of half-time as Richarlison went close to equalising.

But Mourinho was thrilled to see the passion between his players after earning the three points to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

“That’s beautiful,” proclaimed Mourinho. “Probably it’s a consequence of our meetings, probably if you want to blame somebody blame me, because I was critical of my boys that they are not critical of each other enough.

“I asked them to be more demanding, demand more of others, put their their colleagues and put that team spirit that you have to give everything for everybody.

“An amazing kid that everybody loves like Sonny, a team boy, but in that situation the captain saw that you must give a different effort.

“A couple of bad words, I don’t know fi there was a push or not, but it was something important for the team to grow up.

“You need to demand from each other, have strong personalities, so i was really pleased.

“I told them i have no doubts in the second half you are going to stick together until the end.”

Spurs are now nine points off Chelsea in fourth, and seven behind Manchester United in fifth – which could be enough to earn a place in Europe’s top competition should Manchester City endure a ban for FFP breaches.
