Following the release of that massive 1/12th scale Scopedog from Armored Trooper VOTOMS, threezero is following that up with a new Melkia colored variant that includes the parachute pack.
The Scopedog is one of the most iconic real robot mecha designs from the 80s. As penned by mecha designer Kunio Okawara, it would become the centerpiece of the brutal war-torn anime Armored Trooper VOTOMS.
VOTOMS was another of Ryosuke Takahashi’s military-themed mecha anime that pretty much laid the groundwork for much of Western mecha design and games, with series such as Heavy Gear being directly inspired by VOTOMS.
The original 1/12th scale Scopedog toy from threezero was and still is an epic figure, so the fact we are starting to get more variants is great to see.
This particular version uses the Melkia colors and includes the parachute pack. There are two versions planned as well; a standard release and a deluxe version. The latter comes with an extra opened parachute.
The interesting thing here is that if threezero is starting to release more Scopedog variants, it means we could have other designs on the way. Personally, I am holding out for a Burglary Dog from the anime VOTOMS: Shining Heresy.
In any case, you can pre-order this new Melkia colored Scopedog toy from threezero’s site. The standard release is priced at $460 and the deluxe version costs a bit more at $490. The plan is to ship the toys in the first quarter of this year.
