'That could have been my career done' - Swansea City star demands protection as he catalogues rough Bristol City treatment

Bersant Celina has called for more protection from officials following Swansea City's Championship clash with Bristol City.

The Swans were held to a goalless draw with the Robins at Ashton Gate, although they remain level on points with league leaders Leeds United after eight games.

But Celina clearly felt aggrieved after the clash with Lee Johnson's side having been the victim of a brutal challenge from Taylor Moore after just 15 minutes.

The Bristol City man was only cautioned by referee Tony Harrington, with Moore also escaping a second booking for a foul on Andre Ayew shortly after half time.

But there was no such luck for Jake Bidwell who was shown a straight red card by the Cleveland official for his cynical foul on Niclas Eliasson in the final minute of the game.

And Celina took to social media after the match to call for more protection from referees.

He posted several images on Instagram, one of which shows a cut on his leg while another catalogues the first half incident with Moore.

The Kosovan commented: "Lol ref. That could have been my career done. Where is the protection?"

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Cooper admitted he would review the appeals process before deciding whether or not it is worth attempting to overturn the red card brandished to Bidwell.

The defender will miss Swansea's next three games if they do not appeal the decision, or if an appeal is rejected.
