Thanos and disappearing Google trick is proving a sensation - and if you haven't tried it, here's how

Disappearing Google may sound a suspect excuse from anyone tasked with online work but a little internet magic at work is currently proving Friday afternoon entertainment.

Coinciding with the release of the new - and final - installment in the Marvel superhero film franchise Avengers: Endgame, it seems the villainous Thanos' influence is extending online.

Those who key in his name will find his gauntlet appear - and it's causing all manner of mischief.

Similar to the effect of the disintegrating universe viewers saw triggered by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, the Google search results start to fade and disappear.

Anyone who hasn't yet tried it and is keen to have a go need only type Thanos into Google to see a jewelled gauntlet appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

Click on it and, with the addition of magical sound and sparkles, the on-screen text starts to disappear.

Apparently the Google world returns to normal with a second click on the glove.
