'Thanks for the money lads' - Bristol City fans react following sale of Mo Eisa to Peterborough United

After an all-too brief spell as a Robin, Mo Eisa is now a after signing a four-year contract with the League One club.

Eisa moves to the Posh for a "club record fee" which chairman Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed is a seven-figure sum and therefore is more than the £1.25m the Posh paid for Britt Assombalonga in 2013.

Eisa made just six appearances for Bristol City following his transfer from Cheltenham Town last summer, with just one start in the EFL Cup against Plymouth, and it was clear by the end of the season he was no longer part of Lee Johnson's long-term plans.

Reaction to the sale has been largely positive, albeit with some frustration he wasn't given more of a chance, but with the fee from Peterborough covering the expense paid to Cheltenham, and with some left over, ultimately the Mo Eisa experiment was a failure, but a cost-free one.

John Allison added on Facebook: "This is why I’m sceptical about buying players for the future they’re stuck in the u23 and on the bench and I suppose they lose confidence and then interest because they’re not involved. Gotta feeling this’ll happen to the Bath defender he’ll sit in the bench waiting for his chance then he’ll get farmed out on loan."

Dan Knight said: "Personally I think we just lost a good player."
