Amid all the extraordinary anecdotes of people expressing racist opinions in the same breath as their intention to vote for Barack Obama, a reminder from the Baltimore Sun that on the ground in West Virginia there are plenty of people more than happy to express racist hostility to Obama when questioned by a reporter, even if they do have the presence of mind to refuse to give their names. Then there's this man, a self-described Democrat:
I'm not voting for that n-----, and I ain't no racist when I say that either.
To which there is, I fear, no possible response.
