However, Tottenham substitute Fernando Llorente bundled home from a corner and Raheem Sterling then saw a last-gasp winner disallowed for offside - with VAR playing a significant part in both incidents.

After deciding that Llorente did not handle the ball into the goal, VAR also deemed Aguero to be offside in the build up for Sterling's goal - and technology ruled supreme.
As a result, Spurs are now celebrating reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history, with Mauricio Pochettino's men now set to face Dutch side Ajax in the last four of the competition.
