It is official - Jose Mourinho is the new head coach of Tottenham.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has agreed a deal to become the new head coach at Spurs, replacing Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked by the club last night (Tuesday).
The announcement of Mourinho's appointment was made at 6.30am today (Wednesday), less than 12 hours after Pochettino's departure was confirmed by Tottenham.
Mourinho has signed a contract until 2023, with the Portuguese manager taking over with Spurs in 14th place in the Premier League after a poor start to the new season.
The ex-Chelsea and Manchester United boss had been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Mourinho also reported to be a contender to replace Unai Emery at Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal, with the Gunners boss under increased pressure after a poor run of form.
But Mourinho will now be facing the Gunners as the head coach of their big north London rivals, which has sparked a reaction from some Arsenal fans.
And while not all are pleased to see Mourinho back in management at Spurs, there are some Arsenal supporters who are happy that he won't now be taking charge of the Gunners anytime soon.
