Liverpool supporters have taken to social media to thank Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho after the 2-0 victory over Manchester City.
Spurs' win lifts the north London side to fifth in the table and keeps their quest for Champions League qualification alive, with the gap to fourth place Chelsea only four points.
At the top, the result means Pep Guardiola's side remain 22 points behind Jurgen Klopp's men with the same amount of games played, and all but ends City's hopes of defending their Premier League title.
The Reds continued their astonishing league form with a routine 4-0 win over Southampton at Anfield on Saturday, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
And coupled with City's defeat in north London on Sunday evening, Liverpool are now looking certainties to win their first league title for 30 years.
And Reds fans were delighted on social media after the match.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho admitted that it was only a matter of time before the Reds would lift the trophy.
"It was a good weekend, we got two points to Arsenal, to Chelsea, to Leicester, to Wolves, we didn't lose points to Sheffield (United), it is good for us," Mourinho told Sky Sports.
"Obviously, against the champions, still the champions. A fantastic team, even if they [Manchester City] are going to lose the title."
