'Thank God it's over' - Paddy McLaughlin glad to see end of January transfer window

Cliftonville boss Paddy McLaughlin admits he is glad to see the back of the January transfer window.

It turned into an eventful month for the Reds who brought in Michael McCrudden but lost Rhuaidhri Donnelly on deadline day.

Donnelly joined Glentoran in one of the biggest moves of the window, with the Glens also tabling a £60,000 bid for Solitude talisman Joe Gormley which was rejected by the club and player.

Despite the unsettling nature of the January window, McLaughlin insists he is "delighted" with the business Cliftonville completed during the month.

"Thank God, that's the end of that," McLaughlin joked.

"It was eventful for us. But I think as a team and a club we should be delighted with the business we have done.

"We have got a top quality player in Michael McCrudden at the club, and we got a really good fee for Ruaidhri Donnelly and we wish him all the best.

"But we're delighted with the business we did."
