KALYAN: Three robbers attacked a contractual railway staffer with a knife on his face at Kalyan railway yard premises in Maharashtra's Thane district on Friday.
With an intention to loot him, the robbers got hold of the victim and attacked him when he raised an alarm.
Following the incident, the Kalyan GRP has arrested three persons out of which one is a minor who has been sent into a remand home.
Those arrested have been identified as Roshan Sharma, 19, and Saddam Shaikh, 20.
The minor, aged 17, has been detained and sent to Bhiwandi remand home.
The Kalyan GRP said the trio on Thursday late night stopped Devidas Bhale ,21, who works with Central Railway as a labourer on contractual basis inside railway yard and asked him to hand over cash.
When the victim denied having any cash, the accused started checking his pocket.
When he raised the alarm, the accused caught hold of him and stabbed Bhale on his face.
Valmik Shardul, senior police inspector of Kalyan GRP, said, "After robbery when the accused were fleeing, the mobile of one of them fell there. When he returned to take back his mobile phone, some passers-by nabbed him and later through him we nabbed the remaining two accused out of which one is minor."
The GRP has found that out of the accused has criminal cases registered against them.
