Thane: Police call Dombivli murder & suicide a crime of passion

KALYAN: On Tuesday morning, after her mother had left for work, Anita Kale noticed that her sister, Lalita, who had retired to her bedroom in Palava City in Dombivli the night before with her boyfriend Anil Salunke, had not come out even once. She knocked. When she did not get any response, she informed her neighbours, who in turn alerted the local Manpada police.

A police team arrived and broke open the door to find Salunke hanging by a nylon rope, and Lalita Kale lying dead. The cops suspect he used the same rope to strangulate Kale.

Following the crime, Manpada police registered a murder case against Salunke and also a suicide case.

Shekhar Bagade, senior inspector of Manpada police station, said, "Primary probe has revealed that after Kale came to know that Anil was married, she decided to marry someone else, which angered him and led to the crime."
