THANE: A Nigerian died at a forest near Naglabunder off Ghodbunder road allegedly after falling over a pipe near a deserted house while fleeing from a police party who tailed him for possessing drugs. Joe Izzikil was a history-sheeter from Nallasopara.
An officer from Thane crime branch said the anti-narcotics cell had arrested Sandeep Maurya a resident of Santacruz, with 80gm of mephedrone
'During the probe he named the two Nigerians supplying the MD powder to him.
"Accordingly, the sleuths told Maurya to tell them to bring the contraband so that they would trap them," said a senior police officer. - Nishikant Karlikar
