Thane: Drunk man molests 34-year-old woman at railway station, arrested

THANE: A 28-year-old Rabale resident has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 34-year-old female commuter at the crowded Thane railway station last week, officials informed. According to the complaint filed with the Thane railway police by the lady who works in a private company at Airoli and stays in Dombivli, she had gone to attend the annual death anniversary ritual of a relative at her maternal home in Thane and was waiting for a train home at platform number 2.

“The woman complained that the man approached her near the main entrance of the railway station and molested her. The horrified woman immediately raised an alarm following which few fellow passengers pinned the man down and brought him to the police station. The man who works for a printing press was heavily drunk at the time of the incident,” informed senior inspector Pandhari Kande at the Thane railway police. The police said they will investigate the case to know if he has been involved in similar incidents in the past. Manoj Badgeri
