Thane: 4-year-old boy attacked by three stray dogs, suffered 18 bites

KALYAN: A four-year-old boy, who was playing outside his house was attacked by three stray dogs in Kalyan on Friday evening.

The boy suffered bites on 18 places.

The boy is undergoing treatment at hospital.

The incident took place in Dwarli area in Kalyan (East) at 7pm when boy, Tushar, was playing outside his house.

Activist Sandeep Patil said when they rushed the boy to Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation-run Shastri Nagar hospital in Dombivli there was no doctor present at the hospital to treat him.

Patil said, "I doubt the doctor was on leave to celebrate December 31 due to which we rushed the boy to Kalwa hospital for treatment".

The number of stray dog attack incidents has increased in KDMC area.

In the last nine months, 9,044 dog bite cases have been reported in twin city.
