Thames office project ‘will hit view’ of Tower Bridge, nearby residents claim

Extending a riverside building will ruin views of Tower Bridge, nearby residents who are fighting the plans have claimed.

Developers Fore Partnership want to refurbish Tower Bridge Court, a six-storey office block, and add up to three levels on top, saying it will be “more pleasing to the eye”.

Residents say the extra floors will block sunlight reaching their living rooms, cause a “loss of privacy” and “detract from the majesty of the bridge”.

The application is being considered by Southwark council.

No date has been set for a decision to be made by a planning committee.

Fore Partnership said they had “worked closely with local groups and taken their considerations into their designs”.
