Li-Zenn Publishing is organising "Thailand Master House Series – Architecture And The Art Of Living: Conversation Through The Galleria And Baan Sri-inpun", an event that provides a platform for discussion on residential design concept and stories behind two contemporary houses featured in Thailand Master House Series.
Thailand Master House Series features six book volumes: Baan Doi Din Daeng, Baan Soi Klang, The Evergreen Mansion, The Galleria, Baan Sri-inpun and Water House -- each features contemporary houses with a unique design concept and philosophy.
The conversation this time focuses on The Galleria and Baan Sri-inpun. Moderated by Assoc Prof ML Piyalada Thaveeprungsriporn of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Architecture, the event also featured Nithi Sthapitanonda, author of Thailand Master House Series: Vol 4 The Galleria and Thailand Master House Series: Vol 5 Baan Sri-inpun.
Also joining the discussion are Ratch Osathanugrah, owner of The Galleria; Prateep Wongkulnit, owner of Baan Sri-inpun; as well as architects from A49HD and Yangnar Studio who designed the two houses respectively.
Located in Thong Lor 17, The Gallery was built with a determination to preserve big trees so as to maintain lush green atmosphere. The house owner who is also an art and architecture aficionado had worked closely with a team of architects since the beginning of the construction in order to build a contemporary residence for long-term living.
Baan Sri-inpun is located in the lush mountainous landscape of Pua district in Nan province. Over more than a decade, a cluster of houses has been carefully developed through a collaborative process between the homeowner and architects, grounded in extensive research into vernacular architecture drawing from Lanna traditions, Tai Lue influences and regional building wisdom across Southeast Asia.
"Thailand Master House Series – Architecture And The Art Of Living: Conversation Through The Galleria And Baan Sri-inpun" takes place tomorrow at Hub409, A49 Building, on Sukhumvit 26.
