The government has issued a statement "strongly deploring" the sixth nuclear test conducted by North Korea on Sept 3 and called on the insular leadership to comply with the resolution of the United Nations Security Council.

The statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry:

"Thailand strongly deplores the sixth nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on 3 September 2017. Such repeated violations of the relevant UNSC Resolutions undermine international peace and security.

“Thailand reiterates our calls for the DPRK to comply with the relevant UNSC Resolutions, to cease all nuclear and missile tests and to resume dialogues leading to the peaceful resolution of all disputes, thereby bringing peace and prosperity to the peoples of a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.”

The statement was issued late last night and updated this morning.
