No-frills airline Thai Vietjet has launched an aggressive sales campaign, offering a zero-baht ticket to promote its new route from Bangkok to Krabi.

The airline announced the promotion on Friday for passengers booking online for flights Friday to Monday from Suvarnabhumi to Krabi, starting on April 5.

The zero-baht fare does not mean passengers travel for free. They are subject to other fees and surcharges, starting from 259 baht.

Krabi will be the fourth domestic destination for the airline, which is an off-shoot of Vietjet, flying out of Suvarnabhumi  - after Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Phuket.

All low-cost and full-service airlines fly from either Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi airports to Krabi, to tap into the increasing popularity of the southern province as a holiday vacation for local and foreign tourists.
