Phuket: Kevin Whitcraft's Thai team THA72 continued their dominance in their IRC0 class on the second day of the Phuket King's Cup Regatta yesterday.
Japanese team Karasu, skippered by Yasuo Nanamori, won again on the second day in the IRC1 class and remained undefeated.
In the IRC2 competition, Kata Rocks could only manage second behind rivals Big Boys Racing (Farrgo Express), a Chinese entry skippered by Shen Sheng.
Kata Rocks Skipper Peter Dyer said: "We have the lightest boat in the class and are hoping for some softer winds tomorrow [today]."
The second day kicked off as strongly as Monday had ended with consistent, shifting and challenging winds.
Ithinai Yingsiri, skipper of Pine Pacific in the Premier class, said: "In the PKCR or other regattas in Thailand, less than five percent are Thai sailors. So we as the sailing community should support and encourage Thai people to experience sailing and racing at any opportunity".
The King's Cup ends on Saturday.
