Thai restaurant set to open in final unit on Cardiff's Church Street

A popular Thai chain restaurant is set to be the final diner to open in Cardiff's foodie location - Church Street.

Rosa's Thai Cafe has applied to Cardiff Council for an alcohol licence for the premises.

The restaurant chain has submitted the licensing application as well as planning permission for new signage for approval to Cardiff Council.

The restaurant has a large number of branches across the UK, including in London, Leeds, and Liverpool, and its menu features dishes including Pad Thai noodles and green curry, as well as a range of stir fry dishes.

Cocktails are also on offer, including a strawberry and Thai basil mojito called Bangkok Night Out and a Boozy Thai Iced Tea.

The application for new signage shows outdoor seating with removable breeze screens, emblazoned with the Rosa's Thai Cafe font. Owners want permission to sell alcohol to diners from 10am to 11pm between Monday and Saturday and 11am to 11pm on Sundays.

The new city centre development currently features The Botanist, Pho, Mowgli Street Food and Honest Burger's. Rosa's Thai Cafe will take up the final unit in the development.

Work on the site began in 2019, with Mowgli Street Food being the first to open in the same year. Here's our first review of Mowgli.
