Thanks to Asean assembly, Mini’s fashionable SUV can now be had for 2.299 million baht in 192hp form.

Mini Thailand has launched a regionally assembled model of the Countryman to help bring down its price by up to 460,000 baht.
Built in Malaysia and shipped to Thailand via Afta trade benefits, Mini’s fashionable SUV can now be had for 2.299 million baht in Cooper S specification.
Like in the previous completely built-up counterpart, the power is courtesy of a 192hp 2.0-litre petrol-turbo, eight-speed torque-converter automatic and front-wheel drive hardware.
For an additional 200,000 baht, there’s the High Trim featuring 19-inch wheels (up from 18-inch), rear parking camera, Harman Kardon sound system and Mini Connected connectivity.
The most direct rival for the Countryman is the Audi Q2, which is also priced at 2.299 million baht but comes with a less potent 150hp 1.4-litre petrol-turbo in 35 TFSI form.
This price point was once occupied by the Cooper Countryman in imported form coming with 136hp 1.5-litre petrol-turbo. This three-pot Countryman hasn’t been included in the Asean assembly plan yet.
