Thai prices fall on selected Jaguar and Land Rover models

Jaguar F-Type Coupe, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport and Velar can now be had for one million baht less.

Inchcape Thailand, the authorised importer of Jaguar and Land Rover, has slashed prices on four models by one million baht in a bid to attract more clients to showrooms.

Although the local JLR agent announced that it wanted to make its offerings more affordable in price, the move could be seen as a counter-attack on Porsche, which has recently reduced prices of its core-selling SUVs.

The Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid now costs 6.3 million baht, the same level as the Cayenne E-Hybrid whose price has dropped from 7.5 million baht last month.

The Range Rover Velar, meanwhile, now goes for 4.9 million baht with 180hp 2.0-litre diesel engine. It’s 100k dearer than the Porsche Macan, specced with 252hp 2.0-litre petrol motor.

The Land Rover Discovery seven-seat SUV can now be had for 5.5 million baht with 3.0-litre V6 diesel.

The F-Type Coupe is the only Jaguar to see a price drop. Equipped with 300hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit, the Jag costs six million baht scant.

The BMW M2 Competition, which is due for Thai launch at this month’s Motor Expo, is rumoured to be priced at around 6-6.5 million baht. The M2 Competition comes with 407hp turbocharged straight-six.
