'Thai Kwondo' Asian street food contest to spice up Wylam Brewery's bank holiday

We've had the pizza fight and the burger battle - which means it's time for a spicier street food contest at Wylam Brewery.

The venue in Exhibition Park holds regular two-day food competitions, where vendors are invited to serve up twists on their specialties.

This weekend, the brewery will host Thai street food traders in its third 'Thai Kwando' battle, held from 5pm on Friday August 23 and midday on Saturday August 24.

Some traders specialise in South East Asian cuisine , while others will be serving Thai takes on their dishes.

Organisers, 44 Events say: "This battle really showcases the format as each dish packs a punch from a truly inspiring food genre. As always each vendor will provide a £3 option with the aim being to try as many dishes as possible.

"The venue? As always we take over Wylam Brewery from outside to inside. Entry is free, the food is fast but spectacular, and the vibes are beyond positive."

Food will be served until 10pm, with a disco spinning until midnight.

Vendors confirmed so far include:

1. KOGARASHI

2. PAN ASIA

3. RIVER BEAT

4. ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK

5. SOHE

6. TRULY MADLY PIZZA

7. JAM JAR

8. THE CHIP ADVISOR

9/10. LANEWAY COFFEE & PROVEN GOODS DOUGHNUTS.
